Frequently Asked Questions

Most owners I work with didn't set out to run a business- they set out to do something they were passionate about. Somewhere along the way though, the running took over the doing.

I help you find your way back. To your work. To your peace.

It depends on where you are and what you need, but most engagements start with me getting a clear picture of your business- your financials, your processes, your team, and where things are breaking down.

From there, we set priorities together and I start working alongside you, usually a few hours a week. I show up consistently, I communicate clearly, and I don't hand you a report and disappear. Think of it less like hiring a consultant and more like gaining a business partner who doesn't have a stake in your profit.

It starts with a Discovery Call, about an hour, where we get to know each other. I want to understand your industry, your team, and where you feel stuck. If everything feels like a problem right now, that is completely okay. Part of what I do in that first conversation is help you figure out where to start.

After the call I will send a written proposal confirming the scope, hours, rate, and approach. If anything does not feel right, we talk about it before moving forward.

And if I know of a free or low-cost resource that is a better fit for what you need, I will tell you. I would rather point you in the right direction than take on work that is not the right match.

New clients start at $150 per hour for the first three months, for anywhere from 2 -15 hours a week depending on your needs. That onboarding period is where we get clear on what your business needs, what's working, and what to prioritize. By the end of it, we should have a few successes together as well as both have a solid picture of what ongoing support looks like.

After three months, most clients move to a monthly retainer. It is simpler for both of us and reflects the steady, embedded nature of the work at that point. We revisit the hours and rate as the work evolves.

My Initial Discovery Call is always free.

Change management is the process of introducing something new into existing operations, thoughtfully. You can do all the right work to find the best solution, but a good idea implemented carelessly can create its own problems.

If your business is growing, shifting direction, or adopting new tools or processes, you need someone making sure the change actually sticks. I work with you and your team through that transition, getting your vision out of your head and into the day-to-day of how your business runs. That means bringing your team along early, communicating clearly and often, and making sure the people most affected have what they need to succeed.

Growth is supposed to feel like progress. I help make sure it does.

A traditional consultant comes in, assesses the situation, gives you recommendations, and leaves. You are then responsible for figuring out how to implement everything they suggested.

A fractional CFO or COO stays. I work inside your business on an ongoing basis, helping you actually execute, not just plan. I sit in the meetings, I help build the systems, I work with your team, and I adjust as things change. You get the experience of a senior operations partner without the cost of a full-time hire.

Yes. Honestly, that is usually when I do my best work. Most of the owners I work with come to me when things have gotten complicated, not when everything is running smoothly. You do not need to have it together before reaching out. That is what I am here for.

I'll give you honest clarity, first financially and then operationally, as swifty as I can so that you can make decisions from a position of wisdom, peace and power.

It varies, but most clients work with me for at least a year. Operational and financial change takes time to implement well, and the first few months are often just getting clarity on where things actually stand. Some clients work with me long-term as an ongoing partner. If you already have a lot of clarity and need a short season of support or a thought partner for a smaller project I can help there too! There is no pressure either way. We will figure out what makes sense for your business.

Yes. I live in Austin, but I work remotely with clients anywhere and everywhere. I do prefer to visit in-person visit at least once and we can talk through what that looks like, but distance has not been a barrier. If the work is a good fit, we will make it work.

Then you are in good company. A lot of the owners I work with have never done this before, and some were skeptical at first. I do not come in with a rigid framework or a one-size-fits-all approach. I take time to understand how you think, how your team works, and what your business actually needs. If something is not working, we talk about it and adjust. The goal is for this to feel like a genuine working relationship, not a service transaction.
